Descendants of John Byrne, Doonooney, Adamstown, Co. Wexford

In family tradition, either John or a predecessor “married into” Doonooney and had family links with the Byrne families of Bonagrew, Ballycapple and Ballymanus in County Wicklow , also Muchtown, Newtown , Grasscur and Ballylibernagh in County Wexford . Information about the descendants of the Third Generation is very slight, just the children of Patrick and Nicholas.

This page was created by Kevin Nicholas Byrne, son of Patrick Joseph 1908-1975. Last update was 23 September 2021. More detailed information can be found on another page about Byrnes of South Wexford and elsewhere about my own Byrne & Walsh family. In March 2012 I added more detail about the Darcy connection, the antecedants of my grandfather's wife.

Interested persons may wish to know that further reading may be found in a chapter of "The Byrnes and the O'Byrnes" by Daniel Byrne-Rothwell published 2010. See House of Lochar Publishers http://www.houseoflochar.com A dedicated site describes the entire four-volume publication at www.byrnehistory.com and copies are available at the main copyright libraries, also at National Library of Ireland. A major DNA study of the Byrne name is very successful and additional participants will be welcome, especially from South Wexford.
